The Web Won't Die

Ben Thompson's argument that the Flurry's recent report on mobile app usage replacing the use of web browsers is very valid. Thompson notes that many mobile apps, such as Twitter and Facebook, link users who seek information to web pages containing full news stories and articles. I follow the Daily Mississippian on Twitter and when I click on tweets, they make it easy for me by re-routing me to the full story on the Daily Mississippian website. Mobile apps could possibly be increasing the use of web browsers by being easily accessible and performing the hardest task of online journalism- drawing readers in. The web contains unlimited information on any subject and, for this reason, it will never become invalid.
